Classified Positions
Throughout the year, we may have openings for Classified positions. These are positions that do not require a teaching license. All school staff are required to pass an FBI and BCI background check.

Pay: Salary based on current classified salary schedule and experience.
Job description: Fairbanks Local Schools has an immediate opening for a full-time Second Shift Custodian. All buildings are on a shared campus within walking distance of each other.
Hours are Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm with an unpaid 30 minute lunch break. This is a 254 day contract per year, with paid holidays included. Starting pay is $18.50, but can be awarded step increases with applicable experience.
Overtime, and weekend, hours may be needed to cover sporting events and other events on campus.
During the summer, the schedule is shifted to 6:30am to 3:00pm.
Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, SERS retirement plan, and paid time off (sick and personal leave). Vacation is awarded after one year of service.

Job description:
Fairbanks Local Schools is seeking a Panther Paws Assistant Team Leader for the 2026-27 school year.
This is a part-time position will assist our Panther Paws Coordinator with the before and after school program (SACC).
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience working with school age children in a school or recreational setting preferred, excellent group management skills, and must pass an FBI and BCI background check. Punctuality and enthusiasm required.

Bus Drivers must hold proper license and training is available. Substitutes are contacted on an as needed basis to cover for our classified employees.
