Classified Positions

Throughout the year, we may have openings for Classified positions. These are positions that do not require a teaching license. All school staff are required to pass an FBI and BCI background check. 

Classified Application

  • Fairbanks Local Schools is seeking a qualified and experienced Director of Facilities and Maintenance to provide leadership and oversight of the district’s physical plant operations, including maintenance, custodial services, and buildings and grounds.

    This position ensures that all district facilities are safe, clean, efficient, and well maintained, supporting a positive learning environment for students and staff. The Director of Facilities and Maintenance is responsible for supervising department personnel, managing maintenance operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting long-term facility planning and capital improvement efforts.

    The position reports directly to the Superintendent and works collaboratively with district administrators, staff, and community partners.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Demonstrated knowledge or experience in building trades and facility maintenance
    • Supervisory or leadership experience in facilities, maintenance, or related fields
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    • Successful completion of FBI & BCI background checks

    Preferred Qualifications

    • HVAC certification
    • Experience in school district or institutional facilities management
    • Training or experience related to OSHA safety regulations
    • Experience managing maintenance staff and facility operations

    Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Benefits and contract terms will be provided in accordance with district policies and applicable employment agreements.

    Contract Days - 260

  • Fairbanks Schools is seeking caring and reliable individuals to join our team as Full-Time or Substitute Bus Drivers. Training can begin immediately, with the contract starting August 17, 2026. If you enjoy working with students and want to make a positive impact each day, we encourage you to apply!

    No experience required — we provide paid training. Applicants must pass FBI/BCI background checks, obtain a CDL permit, and meet State of Ohio training requirements.

  • Fairbanks Local Schools is seeking a dependable and hardworking Buildings and Grounds Technician to support the safety, maintenance, and appearance of district facilities and grounds. This position is responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces, assisting with building maintenance needs, and supporting the overall operation of school facilities.

    The Buildings and Grounds Technician works closely with the Maintenance Director and other district staff to ensure that school grounds, athletic facilities, and buildings remain safe, functional, and well maintained for students, staff, and the community. Successful completion of FBI & BCI background checks is required.

    Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits and work schedule will be provided in accordance with district policies and applicable employment agreements.

    • Bus Drivers (No experience is necessary, as the transportation department offers training)

    • School Nurses

    Substitutes are required to pass FBI and BCI background checks. Educational Aides must hold a current Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education. Bus Drivers must hold proper license and training is available. Substitutes are contacted on an as needed basis to cover for our classified employees.
